The closer my savings account balance gets to the amount me camera will cost, the more excited I get. I don't even know if excited is the word for it. I've been browsing around a few digital photography sites and galleries today, just getting an idea of the type of quality and images I can expect. The more I browse, the more I want my camera ASAP. It's definitely been a long time coming, that's for sure and while I'm trying my darndest to be patient, it isn't working.
With any luck though.. I'll be ordering it before Christmas!
Here's hoping.
Life has been pretty busy for the last couple of weeks, and especially so for the last week. Jo's grandmother passed away last Wednesday and her funeral was this past Saturday. Naturally we were all sad but we were all lucky enough to get to say goodbyes and she was able to do the same since she was still in the right "state of mind" days before her passing. We all know she was at peace and that is certainly helping with all of our healing.
I have been busy working on a couple of new projects, some that will not launch for a few weeks but one is already up and running - eyetakepictures.com which is my daily photoblog. My primary goal for this blog is to take and post at least one picture everyday. That may not seem difficult for most people but I have tried this in the past and it can turned into quite the task. Here's hoping though. I'm going to give it a try.
I still can’t believe I never posted any pictures from our trip up! Like I’ve mentioned before, we really didn’t have a lot of time to stop for things like that, we wanted to make the trip in 3 days and actually, it took 4! I only took pictures in New Mexico and Wyoming! I’ll make up for that when I head back to Georgia late this summer, I promise!
Here’s 4 of the, uhmm, 10 or so that I actually took (how lame is that???)!!

So, I've had these items for.. oh, I dunno, a couple of weeks and have been meaning to post them. First item = My Munny, many thank yous to zee artist Jason. I love my new boyfriend. tehe.
In other news. My mail thingy for herbrokentoy.com has been wonky since they installed the new system. I never got my renewal email about it, even though I knew it was about that time. Well, low and behold, it's expired. Should be back soon though. No worries. :D
Didn't get to take very many pictures while away. We did a bit of running around, walking around and just having a good time. Did get a few good shots though. When we arrived at Tybee yesterday (Friday), we had about 20-30 mins before the sky ripped open and unleashed a nasty thunderstorm on us.. so we didn't get to do many picturesthere and it got dark pretty quickly from the storms rolling in... here's a few though.
Herbrokentoy.com; another facelift.
Couldn't stand the other one any longer.. just had to do
something. Threw this together today. Notify me if you have
any issues or errors, I haven't checked yet (Ooops).
Herbrokentoy.com has relaunched.
Nothing special.. nothing fancy. Should load faster than the previous design. Let me know if you get errors, I'll fix them right away.. I'm still working out a few little kinks but otherwise, she's running.
:)
If you'll recall, my dad is planning to help with a new digital
camera for my birthday. This is mostly because of the many shoots
I have lined up in the coming weeks, including a few excoworkers, Jess'
family (Her mom, sister Amy, sister Lindsay, Amy's daughter Erica and
Jess of course), Diona and a
friend of hers, Ariel (Lindsay's friend) for her portfolio (modeling
and a cd she's making) and not to mention the various other
things. I have just been asked to *possibly* do another wedding
(outside of Hen's). As
you can see, I'm going to be pretty busy beginning in September,
haha. So anyway.. I was talking with my dad earlier today.. I had
originally decided on the 350d, until I found out about the plasticy
body it was my first choice. Then I started looking into the
Nikon's and decided on the d70s. Well, my dad and I decided and
mutually agreed on the d200. The only catch is it will be the
first week of September now, before I can order it and that's only if
we have a contract on the house. (EVERYONE PRAY WE HAVE THIS BY
THEN hahaha) I found a package for a little over $1800. My
dad is going to cover the first $1000, so I won't feel such a big dent
in my bank account.. shewwwey.
Now I'm just really anxious about getting a contract on the
house. We lowered the price last Friday. It's about
$5000-7000 under what it should appraise at, so hopefully people will
take note of that and we can get this ball-a-rolling. We did show
the house Tuesday and I'm really hoping they were interested
buyers. We haven't heard anything else from them yet but I'm
really hoping it's just because they're applying for their financing
(getting preapproved before submitting an offer) or applying for
grants. Some of the grants for first time home buyers take up to
48 hours to process/hear back on. I don't want to get my hopes up
but I guess in a way, I just can't help it. Pray, send positive
vibes/energy.. whatever it is you do for things like this, I would
appreciate it. lol
Let's see..
I had a terrible dream the other night. I'm not sure how many
of you know that I'm unable to have children of my own (thanks to
PCOS/PCOD).. but I drifted off into sleep and started dreaming that Jo
and I had just moved to NH (where we plan to move once we sell the
house and the transfer completes). I was around 7 months pregnant
and we'd stopped in a convient store/truck stop for a drink and
gas. While we were in there, the place was robbed and the guys
robbing it started shooting the customers. I was hit in the belly
and the baby was killed. I woke up bawling my eyes out.
It's seriously amazing how a dream can do that to you.. play with your
mind and all like that. I didn't go back to sleep.. I have had
dreams pick up where they left off when I wake at certain points.. and
I certainly didn't want to drift back into that dream.. Yikes.
Well, I'm gonna end this.. need to tweak the new myspace design I put up. :D
