Life has been pretty busy for the last couple of weeks, and especially so for the last week. Jo's grandmother passed away last Wednesday and her funeral was this past Saturday. Naturally we were all sad but we were all lucky enough to get to say goodbyes and she was able to do the same since she was still in the right "state of mind" days before her passing. We all know she was at peace and that is certainly helping with all of our healing.
I have been busy working on a couple of new projects, some that will not launch for a few weeks but one is already up and running - eyetakepictures.com which is my daily photoblog. My primary goal for this blog is to take and post at least one picture everyday. That may not seem difficult for most people but I have tried this in the past and it can turned into quite the task. Here's hoping though. I'm going to give it a try.
I'm not sure if it's something I ate earlier today or if I'm coming down with a stomach bug but my, my if I'm not sick. I've been feeling really nauseated and at times even a little light headed. I tried laying down earlier but that didn't seem to help and depending on the position I was in, even made it worse. I really hate this queasy, almost unsettled feeling.
If it isn't a stomach bug and wasn't anything I've eaten, it has to be all of the stress as of late. With Jo's grandmother being sick (well, dying :/), there's just been so much going on every single day. Emotions are high and tensions are even higher. I'd say that could possibly be what's wrong with me now that I think about it.
I keep forgetting that I am an hour and a half ahead of my family. For some reason I keep thinking we are still behind him by 3 hours. It's almost 9:30pm here (Newfoundland) but for some reason I was thinking it was after midnight EST. Boy was I off! It took me a few months to get into MST (mountain standard time), I wonder how long it will take me to get into being in NT (Newfoundland time)?
There are many benefits to having and driving an eco-friendly car. Not only are you doing something that is better for the environment, you are also doing something that is a bit "nicer" to your wallet. When you buy insurance for an eco-friendly car, you may find that the insurance is a lot cheaper. Car insurance, depending on where you live, can sometimes make or break a new car (or even older car) deal but it is something we all have to have.
The next time my husband and I get a new car, we plan to look into an eco-friendly car, not only because of what we would be doing for our environment but also because we want to be able to save money anywhere we can. That includes insurance on our car. Cheap Car Insurance can be hard to find for some. Lucky you, you have stumbled onto this entry. Kwik-fitinsurance.com is a great place for you to find affordable car insurance. You will also find a variety of discounts like an up to 20% discount when you buy online, that will save you even more money and isn't that something we all want and need these days?
If you live in the UK and are looking for affordable insurance on your eco-friendly car, or you are planning to buy an eco-friendly car and are looking for affordable insurance, check them out today - Kwik-fitinsurance.com. You can obtain a quote right from the site, so what are you waiting for?
One of the things that I love (and really missed) about being here with Jo's family is that we have breakfast and dinner together everyday. My family rarely did this because we were all always somewhere else - work, the gym, out for a walk or shopping, things like that. It was something I looked forward to everyday when we came here last Christmas and something I longed for after we left. I am so thankful to have that back because it is the time where we can all catch up with what is going on with each and everyone of us.
We arrived in Newfoundland on Wednesday morning and after about 6 hours of driving across Newfoundland, we made it "home". It feels so great to be here. The weather is pretty chilly right now but it's really nice. I'm hoping to get out and take some pictures this afternoon, if the weather holds up.
As for our drive across Canada, it was filled with a lot of bumps in the road - literally. We had so many detours and "issues" along the way but alas, we're here and safe and that's all that matters.
I'll be spending the next week or so trying to get caught up on everything (visiting folks, commenting and getting back into the loops). Honestly, it might take longer than a week, haha.
Anyway, just wanted to check in and let everyone know we made it here safely!
With any luck, this time tomorrow we will be ending our first day of driving for a trip across Canada to Newfoundland. We were planning to leave this morning but that did not work out once we found out our apartment manager could not stop in for a final walk through until today.
I am seriously ready to get this show on the road, not only because of how long the drive will be but also because I am so excited about getting in Newfoundland. I know we are going to be so much happier there.
Crock pot cooking is something I really miss. It has been at least 7 or 8 months since Jo and I cooked anything in a crock pot. The last thing we cooked in it was pepper steak. It was all done on memory because every recipe was stored away in plastic containers after moving out of our house into my dad's place before moving here to Calgary.
Once we get settled into our new place, I plan on cooking up a few dishes in the crock pot. One thing I would love to try is a pot roast or crock pot macaroni and cheese. Since I actually lack in any good crock pot recipes, I will be hopping over to A-crock-cook.com to find some delicious dishes to try.
If you are looking for yummy crock pot dishes, you have to pay them a visit! You can find recipes for different meat dishes, soups, pastas, desserts and even vegetarian dishes.
Well, in about another day we will be well on our way to Newfoundland. I am really, really excited but at the same time a little nervous (about the drive). I will be glad when it's all said and done though. I am so exhausted from cleaning, packing and running around. I can't think of a single part of my body that isn't hurting at this point!
I have a terrible headache tonight. I think it's from sitting at Wal-mart for over 3 hours tonight, while waiting on an oil change. Yeah, they were THAT backed up. This was our fourth try at getting it done and there was no way I was leaving Wal-mart without it tonight. I am so happy that's all done though. The only thing to worry about is returning our digital cable box, modem and remotes. Then we will load up the truck.
I have many single friends who, like me, are into body modification - especially tattoos. I have just learned about a new social site where they can create profiles and meet other singles like them. I mean, there are so many dating sites out there catering to many different types of people. Why not a tattoo personals site?
Are tattoos your thing and you are interested in tattoo dating, have a look around Tattoolovers.com. Browse around through photos, see who is online and join for free. Once you have joined, start searching for your special someone who shares your love for body art.
