Well, the decorations have been laid out and are slowly making their ways to the windows, the walls, the tables, the shelves and various other places around the house. Once we're done with this, we'll start working on getting the tree up and decorated. The house is in a horrible state right now and resembles the look of a tornado coming through but in the end it will be worth it because it will be looking a lot more like Christmas. I have no idea how long this task will take, considering the huge amounts of Christmas decor Jo's mom has. I'm going to guess and say we may be finished by Thursday, HAHA.
It's nice though. I'm already in the spirit and we've already been playing Christmas CDs.
I'm so excited about doing some Christmas shopping. Jo and I will be going to Gander one day early in the week to start on it. I have a few ideas in mind for my in-laws and my own family back home but I need to get some hints from a few of them.
My sister in law is probably going to be the hardest to pick for though. She likes short, tight fitting clothing (pffth at 17). I don't like looking at anyone dressed like that, much less my 17 year old sister in law. I refuse to buy her anything like that, EVER. I think to be on the safe side though, I'll stick with buying her some pajamas and a coat, then fill her stocking up with a few stocking stuffer things.
Jo's already given me ideas about what he wants. The biggest thing is Call of Duty4, blank DVDs and a digital camera (point and shoot). The first 2 I can manage.. the last, I'll have to see which one he's talking about! HAHA.
My mother in law made it easy. She's been dropping hints for months. We're going to get her a new electric can opener, some boots and possibly a coat.
For everyone else... I am stumped!
The other night when I spoke to my dad over the phone, I asked him if there was anything he wanted or needed for Christmas. Well, since my oldest nephew and niece live with him now, he says he's been collecting a lot more garbage. I'm sure you can imagine. He says it would be nice if along with whatever we buy him, if we could send a trash compactor accessory or two. I asked if he could be more specific about what he needed and he replied with "bags, more bags". Abtelectronics.com has a nice selection of trash compactor accessories - bags and would you believe, for prices I can afford. I'll have to call him back and ask what size he needs but they carry them in 12 inches, 15 inches and 18 inches.
If you are looking for quality appliances, accessories and electronics then Abtelectronics.com is the place you need to be. They even have free shipping available. Visit their website for more information or to shop online.
When the weather starts to cool down, I'm suddenly reminded that Christmas will soon be here. Well, the weather has been cooling down for several weeks now, so I know Christmas is not that far away. Do you have any ideas about what you will be giving to your loved ones, in regards to presents / gifts?
For the most part I have been pretty stumped. I have known for awhile now that I wanted to give my loved ones unique gifts or something they otherwise never have / get for themselves. I have several relatives and friends that, like me, love to travel. My good friend Jess traveled to New York City a few years ago but during her stay, she really did not have the chance to do much sightseeing at all. She is always talking about wanting to visit New York City again someday and about how she will make sure to go to places like the Empire State Building and the Museum of Modern Art this time around. With her suggestion (or hint), I have been putting some serious thought into buying her a New York CityPass for Christmas. This will be a great gift for Jess and she will save a lot of time by being able to skip those main entrance ticket lines at the various locations she would like to visit. Plus, it will save money too, which my bank account will appreciate. I think this is one of those one-of-a-kind gifts that will not be looked at like "What can I return this for" because it offers so much - saving time, having fun while visiting New York City and best of all, the memories those who get it will make.

A few days ago one of my close friends was showing me the birth announcements she bought from Tiny*Prints, they're absolutely adorable. Until then, I didn't realize that you could buy other types of greetings from them like business holiday greeting cards, thank you cards, gift tags and baby shower invitations. I was just browsing through their selection of new 2007 holiday cards and can't decide on which ones I like best - they're all wonderful. Winter is just around the corner and everyone knows that with winter comes Christmas. This is the perfect time to buy those holiday greeting cards for your loved ones, co-workers and employees. Keep Tiny*Print in mind when you start shopping, you will not be disappointed that you did.
Can you believe, Christmas is right around the corner? It seems like the second school gets underway, all of the holidays just sneak right up on us, doesn't it? I don't know about you but I personally love the giving part of the holidays. But you know, even so, I still try to keep a check on my wallet and stick to a budget as best as possible. How do I do this? Well, normally I would use regular coupons but since I plan to take my holiday shopping to the internet this year, I will be looking for online deals and coupon codes, which I (and you) can find over at Couponchief.com!
Other than the spending aspect, I often struggle with ideas on what to get my loved ones. Luckily, many of my loved ones decided to give me a list - early. My husband is itching for a new pair of Nike sneakers and I managed to find Nike Coupons which will help me buy them within my budget - I can save up to 30% on the Air Equalon for men! My sister in law loves clothes, handbags and generally, anything in pink. She should be fairly easy to shop for them with Delias Coupons. She has already put in a request for a pink sweater, hoodie and of course the handbag, so I am happy to see a coupon for free shipping on anything $75 and more. Either way, I am going to spend that $75 so to get the shipping for free is awesome.
If you are looking for great deals and online coupons, Couponchief.com is the place you need to be. This is a time for giving, not worrying about the money being spent!
My husband's maternal grandfather was a quartermaster back in the day and even to this day, loves being out on the water. We were brainstorming ideas for a possible gift for him, since Christmas is just around the corner and both agreed that we cannot go wrong with anything for his boat, or anything nautical even. I think he would love to have one of those nautical clocks. I was just showing some of these to my husband and we both really love one of the ship wheel clocks with the mahogany base. This is really fitting for him because as a quartermaster, he was responsible for navigation and such and now, on his own boat as "captain", he is still in charge of navigation and such.
There are also other accessories that I think Bram (the grandfather) would love. Things like barometers, boat covers and even radios. What a great place for people who are looking for nautical accessories for themselves or as a gift for a loved one (like we are doing). I will have to keep this site in mind as the holidays draw near!
It is so hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. One of my favorite things about Christmas is putting up the tree, a real tree! I love the way they make my home smell. On thing I did not even know was that you could actually buy them and more, online and have them delivered straight to your door. Christmas garland, wreaths, trees, and swag can all be purchased from the Christmasfarms.com and you will not have to be bothered with picking them up. And best yet, it is all at a price you can afford!
Sounds good to me! I do buy nearly everything online, so why should I stop with Christmas trees? This is a convenient way to do your Christmas tree shopping!
