Ever since we were given the option to use our own banners here on Vox, I've been wanting to put a little something up, just to make it a little more personal. Welp, I finally did it! :)
It's nothing snazzy, just done up from older images I had stored on photography site. :)

Scribblescratch.com is back up. As mentioned it the recent post, I'm still working on a few things, which includes the links. If you blog on a personal website/domain, please let me know. Some of you have changed web addresses and during my time in Newfoundland, I've not been able to keep up as much as I would like! :)
What's this? Another update?? Why yes, yes it is! :)
I'm sitting here at my dad's, bored out of my mind! I'm tired of watching movies, tired of washing clothes and packing things up. I've been looking at apartments in Calgary but it's frustrating to do on dial-up. Meh. I did find a nice townhouse style apartment with hardwood floors and finished basement for $825 a month. We're going to check into it when we find out the area it's in. Jo's calling his friend Brian (who still lives in Calgary) to see what areas are best, it's been 7 years since we lived there, so I'm sure things have changed a bit.
I'm a little annoyed with my dad right now. I had a lot of things I'd planned on selling in my little 'yard sale'.. well, I'd say about half of it has been given away to people he knows. No money made off of it, just given to them. If it were people I knew and knew they 'needed' it, it'd be one thing.. but that's not the case. And on top of those things, a lot of the things I had boxed up to keep, like my large teapot collection, are missing. All of my baker's racks are gone. In fact, a lot of the things we had boxed up, has been 'reorganized' by my dad. So silly. We had clothes that we had planned to take to Calgary with us, boxed in 2 separate plastic containers. My teapots, candles and picture frames were in a plastic container. He's put them in various boxes together. Pffttthhh!!!!!!!! I don't know why he felt compelled to do that, it was perfect how we had it and labeled on the outside of the boxes! The biggest upset is that he's done something with all of my art supplies (paints, conte, oil pastels, paper, ebony pencils, erasers) and best of all, my scrapbooking things. Including the scrapbook me and Stacey did for eachother. *bangs head* Of everything that's missing, that's the most important and most cherished.. I really hope it's in a box here somewhere and hasn't been ditched. :(
Anyway. This balcony is cold (no, not outside lol) and my hands and feet are freezing. I'm going to go finish washing clothes, packing and reorganzing my things. haha! Scribblescratch.com will be back up by the end of the weekend. :)
Just another quick update!!
We made it back to Georgia yesterday, January 16th! We have a meeting tomorrow, then it'll be time to finally relax for a couple of weeks. We still have quite a bit to get done before we head off to Calgary.
For instance, we need to file our taxes, sell the remaining furniture and various other things that we have left since moving out of the house. Really, the only thing we have left is our bedroom suit. I really didn't want to sell it because it's extremely nice and comfy! (King size, solid pine sleigh bed with pillow top matresses) However, if we decided to move it, we'd have to pay way too much for a moving truck and no telling what we'd pay on taxes when we get to the border. We figured by the time we did all that, we could buy a new bedroom suit and might as well sell this one. Thankfully, my dad is going to buy it for the amount we would be satisfied selling it for. I need to sell the fridge still, after that, I will likely just have a yard sell and get rid of the rest.. or at least the biggest majority of it.
We are driving up and finally mapped out our route, how long it will take to get there (a rough estimate) and how much we will allow ourselves to spend (gas, which you can't "allow" because it's needed, hotels & food). Our roughest estimate is about a grand. We're hoping to spend less and not more. I need to get winter tires put on my truck, a complete inspection and tune up on the truck, including an oil change.
What was that I wrote in the second paragraph... "RELAX".. right! haha!

Well, I'm still in Newfoundland. We arrived a day late because the ferry from North Sidney, Nova Scotia to Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland had trouble docking due to the high winds and rough seas. Here's a run-down.. haha.
The trip up to New York was great, we had a 5 hour layover scheduled for NYC. Thank heavens we didn't stay for that. Sorry to any of you New Yorkers on my list but the bus terminal SUCKS. I bet we had 3-5 people try to "take" our bags for us. Even after saying "No, we've got it, thanks!".. they still didn't get it. We found our gate and by a miracle, caught an earlier bus to Boston, MA because that bus was running late. We spent 6 hours in Boston, which was much nicer. The rest of the trip was missed by me, I spent it in and out of sleep haha. When we got to North Sidney, we were told there would be no crossings for the day, that our scheduled 11:45pm crossing was scheduled for the next morning at 7am. We decided to get a hotel room and arrived back at the terminal at 6:30am, only to find out it wouldn't cross before noon! Ick. Well, we then found out that there'd be no buses waiting for us because they run once a day and that's at 8am. We wouldn't be arriving until 8pm that night. My in-laws drove down to get us. That's an 8 hour trip but well worth it.
I've gotten my first white Christmas, seen real snow (not just little flurries) and it's been great. It's beautiful here. I can throw a rock into the Atlantic ocean from the front yard. I haven't seen a moose yet, so I'm a little disappointed.
We're supposed to head home on January 12th, which means we'd be crossing on the ferry that night, however, this may change. There's a snow storm headed this way as we speak.. this is not good news. We HAVE to be back in Georgia by the 18th and that might not happen. Ugh. I'm worried but what can you do.. nothing.

Wow.. long time no vox! My bad!
How's everyone doing? Well I hope! :) I've been doing ok! Thanksgiving was really great, spent it with my dad, sisters, brother, nephews, nieces and my dads girlfriend! Turned out really nice, a lot better than most of us thought it would.. haha!
My dad is having some testing done today. He had a minor heart attack back in 2001, they found some blockages back then and his physician said 2 weeks ago, that the blockages had gotten a lot worse and they needed to do another heart cath. They're possibly going to do a stent today and if worse comes to worse, they're also talking about heart surgery. I really hope it won't come to the latter!
My grandmother is in the hospital now too. She'd been up coughing all of Sunday night/Monday morning and when she went to her physician yesterday, they admitted her right away. She has pneumonia! Hoping she's going to be alright too!
Anyway.. anything new with you guys/gals? Ready for Christmas? I'm not.. haha!!

I'm just full of teh dork today. It's been a good day! A good, good day! And that's even with this weird pain in my back.. I'm thinking it's the nasty weather.. now if that isn't a sign of getting old, I don't know what is!
