For the last few minutes Jo and I kept hearing this awful racket off of the balcony. When we went to the window to see what it was, we realized it was hail. Not like little ice pellets but golf ball and baseball sized hail. There’s no cover over my truck (or any vehicle in the parking lot) so I guess mother nature is getting in some target practice out there. I can see a few dings from up here (4th floor) from the way the sun is shinning down on it. I just hope it hasn’t cracked any of the windows!
Do you have driver pet peeves? Is there something drivers do that bugs the heck out of you? Where do “I” start with this one..
- Drivers who fail to use a turn signal. Seriously, is it so hard for you to signal when you’re about to make an abrupt turn? I’ve seen several accidents here that were caused by drivers who failed to signal.
- Drivers who can’t seem to put their cellphones down long enough to go from point A to point B. Several weeks back I was heading to get Jo from work when a driver who was talking on their cellphone wasn’t paying attention to the guy ahead of them, who was turning. Instead of breaking, they decided the best thing to do was to swerve into my lane. This literally sent me over the median, which nearly caused me to roll over (in an SUV). I’ve almost been hit by drivers who run red lights because they’re on their cellphones and not paying attention to the lights changing.
- Drivers who are in a hurry and think by riding up on my bumper is going to speed me up. Hardly. In fact, these drivers are more than likely going to piss me off to the point where I’ll slow down. If you are in that big of a hurry, leave the house earlier.
- Drivers who do not restrain children in a car seat. I cannot tell you how angry it makes me to see a toddler standing up in the front or backseat of a car. There’s no way that child is going to survive a high impact collision and these happen almost daily here.
- Drivers who refuse to let you merge. I cannot count the times I’ve run out of road before I was able to merge because of jerks like this.
What are yours?
I have been terribly sick to my stomach for the last 14 or so hours. I had a seafood sub from Subway yesterday evening and within about 15 minutes of eating it, I became so ill! I can’t remember a time when I felt that sick, even when I had appendicitis! I’m feeling a bit better right now, but I’m still afraid to eat much. My stomach is still cramping a bit, though nothing compared to the cramping of last night. It felt as if someone was trying to rip my intestines out, through my belly button!
Also, since I’m pretty positive that I’m lactose intolerant. Because of this, I’ve decided to make a switch from regular milk to soy milk. I must say, this has been a nice change and I actually love soy milk! Hopefully this is going to suit my tummy better than milk!
This would explain me disappearing act over the last few days. I’ve been around in spurts but not as much as usual.
It’s nice and cool in my apartment today! Unlike yesterday, there’s a lovely cool breeze circulating! Thanks to my new air conditioner, of course! I am so happy we decided to go ahead and buy it, rather than wait to see how today’s weather would be! It’s near 90ºF right now! there’s no way I could’ve handled that today!!
Last call on the contest by the way - That’s life! I’m going to close comments at midnight EST. If you were planning to enter, do so before then please!
I still can’t believe I never posted any pictures from our trip up! Like I’ve mentioned before, we really didn’t have a lot of time to stop for things like that, we wanted to make the trip in 3 days and actually, it took 4! I only took pictures in New Mexico and Wyoming! I’ll make up for that when I head back to Georgia late this summer, I promise!
Here’s 4 of the, uhmm, 10 or so that I actually took (how lame is that???)!!

First and foremost, be warned, this entry will be all over the place!
Do any of you watch Gene Simmons Family Jewels? I absolutely love this show! His kids crack me up, especially Nick! They seem to have a great relationship (parents/kids)! I watched nearly every episode of the marathon today!
Today was pretty uneventful. I napped, which is becoming more and more normal for me and then we went out for a little “Canada Day” dinner. Nothing special, really but it was nice! Now I’m just sitting here with both fans blasting on me because it’s so hot and miserable right now! I complain about the heat a lot, don’t I? If you didn’t know any better, you’d think I was actually planted in the SE Georgia area right now, huh? I feel their pain and while it isn’t that hot (Southern hot), it feels like it sometimes because there is no AC! My butt is sticking to my seat, how annoying?!
I am really looking forward to getting back to Georgia though! I’m still not sure where we’re going to settle (Georgia or Newfoundland) but either way, just to be near family / loved ones is enough to make me happy! I can’t wait to see my mom, dad, sister and nephews! I’ll be there around the time of Trent and Landon’s birthday, so we’re going to try to do a big bbq the first weekend we’re down, and probably along with a pool party at my Aunt’s! I’m also looking forward to seeing Jo’s family again, I really miss them! Sometimes I think I miss them more than my own immediate family, which I guess is because I just felt like I didn’t have enough time with them! I’m sitting here going through all of the pictures I took in Newfoundland and the ones I took on our trip up here! I don’t think I ever posted any of these! I’ll have to do that later tonight!
As you can see, there’s a new theme up. The pink became, well, too pink for me! I’ll keep it in my “vault” in case I ever get another wild-hair on my head and decide to go with something pink-pink again! I doubt it’s going to be any time soon. I’m actually really loving this theme, and quite a bit more than the previous one!
Anyway! There’s about 12 hours left in my contest, so you best get your submissions entered now!!! CONTEST TIME! Thank you to those of you who have already submitted!
